Be kind to each other! 'What Are Little Girls Made Of' because it introduced something I'd always privately suspected since the original series - that Ben and Gwen's Grandma was an alien. And it was also a nice-tie in with why Gwen was born with magical aura and could work spells.I also have a fond spot for 'The Flame Keeper's Circle' in Ultimate Alien because it's a nice look at Julie's character and what matters to her.
It's also nice to see that she doesn't automatically jump into Kevin and Ben stance on sharing alien tech with the rest of the world - the cult she joined was misguided and took things why too far but she believes their objective to use tech to better the Earth and help hospitals and schools was still a just thing to do. And I can see her point. (Ben and Kevin make decent points too, but it's easy to make blanket statements when you have access to the technology in the first place.

If they contract space cancer, they're more likely to get a cure than any other human sucker stuck on Earth with restricted access)But a lot of my favourites come from Omniverse; basically any episode that involves Charmcaster because this series actually made her fun and entertaining to watch again. She regained some of that zany, malicious spark she had in the original series. And I also liked 'The Color of Monkey' because it made Rojo fun to watch in a similar way to Charmcaster, which is an undertaking because I don't care too much for Rojo in the original series. Also watching Ben outplay Argit was nice to see, and him and Rook guzzling their faces with artifcal tiffin made me crave ice-cream so it was a nice comfortable episode to watch.Plus I liked episodes like 'Bros in Space', 'OTTO Motives' and 'Tummy Trouble' because we got to see aliens live their day-to-lives on other worlds free from human influence and get little peeks of their culture.
I kinda missed those little explorations in prior series, or if they did them, they seemed to focus more on how Ben and co reacted to them. In Omniverse they were just there, regardless if Ben was in the scene or not.

Overall, The Filth was pretty mediocre and Freaky Gwen Ben was just average. Both episodes are also just very much forgettable. I don't find these episodes worth going back and re-watching again.Warning: SpoilersThe Filth (S1E1): What am I watching here? The Roadrunner cartoon?
A good portion of the episode felt as if I was watching the Looney Tunes and not Ben 10 and not in a good way. Also, instead of having to find something to throw at the maggot monster to get that magnet that's holding it together, Ben could've just simply change into Heatblast and burn the maggot monster down. Nothing else to throw at the monster? There's a bunch of barrels lying around that'll work just fine. There's no need to grab the Rustbucket and throw it. I found no jokes in this episode to be funny at all and the action was just average.
Ben also cleaned the entire Rustbucket so he should already have finished all of his chores. What else on that list of chores did he have to do when the entire Rustbucket is clean? The joke at the end was just stupid and a pretty mediocre way to end the episode on.Overall, that really wasn't a good episode and the story was just weak.
The jokes weren't funny. The action was just average.

The Wildmutt reference is ok although if Wildmutt himself doesn't get added into Ben's alien roster, I don't think at least a good bunch of people are going to like that reference; especially Wildmutt fans. Apparently Ben, Gwen, and Max already know about Hex so does he make an appearance in Waterfilter or The Ring Leader or.are these episodes being aired out of order? Or maybe is this reboot making the same mistake that the PPG 2016 reboot made where you have to have past knowledge of the previous Ben 10 shows to understand what's going on? Anyways, so yeah, they're doing 'A Change of Face' again just with Hex this time around and not Charmcaster. Well, at least Ben and Gwen are arguing with each other so that's good. Like I said, I find it better for Ben and Gwen to be at each other's throats since that it makes it all the more satisfying when Ben and Gwen do get along with each other and their relationship with each other improves in the short and long run so yeah, that's good at least.
Although, Gwen gave up too early and quickly after her initial run with using the Omnitrix for the first time. Even Gwen in the OS was a lot more determined, dedicated, and focused with using the Omnitrix for the first time in 'A Change of Face.' For the reboot, it felt out-of-character for Gwen to just give up so easily in this episode even though she didn't even do much as Four Arms. Max casting spells?
What the hell? The police officer that arrested Hex is an idiot. Yes, destroying a Swap Meet and endangering people's lives is against the law. They just leave the spell book on the ground? What the hell? That was really stupid of them to do that?Overall, it was a little better than The Filth. Hex was just ok.

The writing really needs improvement though. Really, the only thing that I did like was Ben and Gwen's interactions with each other and their willingness to work together to stop Hex and that was pretty much it for the episode.
In the end, I found this episode to just be either average. When compared to 'A Change of Face' from the OS though, this episode was just not good and could thus make this episode look at least below average. Coinciding somewhat with the ending of Regular Show and Adventure Time, I feel like this the end of an era in animation. I remember watching shows like Ben 10 and Adventure Time and Avatar, and more recently Gravity Falls, and loving the writing, mature themes, and lore. Now everything is dumbed down to fit the youngest demographic, alienating not only older children and teens, but also adults who watch cartoons.
The only show still going that does it for me is Steven Universe, which is on a painfully long hiatus. I hope we American animation fans can get some new shows that are family friendly but still deep and rich. Original Teen Titans, Avatar, Young Justice, Justice League/JLU, Danny Phantom, and of course Ben 10. These shows legitimately helped shape me and taught me honest to goodness lessons. These shows are shows I still re-watch today. These shows have stuck with me and meant something to not just me, but I know many of my generation have felt the same way about these shows.Younger generations don't have that nowadays (Gravity Falls had ended, AT is ending, so there's basically just SU) and it makes me sad. I am giving some allowance due to episodes having a shorter time restraint.
This is going hurt storytelling, but I don't see them going back to 22mins episodes unless it for specials or climaxes in the story.Yeah, agree about the first one. I thought it was ok. It felt like what it was, a pilot episode.
At least it give us a new villain (I guess) and I like how it shown how inexperience he was. On a rewatch, I can see a lot of people will go straight to the second episode.
I feel like you just nitpicking when it comes to how he defeated the monster. I'm pretty sure we can do the same for the OS, if not all the series.
His watch still doesn't work correctly, so that doesn't help. It is just the first episode, so I'm not going be that harsh on the story and pretty sure roadrunner cliches shown up in the other series.The tank left me more (for lack of a better word) confused than make me want to laugh, but I'm glad they did it. I like the reference. That might have been a Brainstorm reference too. At least it shows that they didn't forgot or are ignoring their old fans. Also, it might show that he isn't just sticking to 10 aliens. I think we are just going to have to prepare for more flashbacks moments or episodes.

Wildmutt was used in the advertising a lot, so I didn't think it was an unpopular form, but now it's removed from the set AND insulted? The eyeless, orange, gorilla-hound was the show's highlight for me!Oh well. The older Ben 10 cartoons still exist, and I have other cartoons I'm watching at the moment, so I'll live.
